John Brumby Cartoon

In 2010 I was commisioned to do a Cartoon that would be presented to John Brumby for his efforts in reinstating injured workers rights.

A little background info:
In 1992, Jeff Kennett largely dismantled workers rights and significantly reduced benefits for injured workers. In 1999 the Bracks Government reinstated common law rights for compensation.

In 2007, the Victorian Brumby Government commissioned Mr Peter Hanks QC to review and report on the Victorian workers’ compensation system. He was given a broad mandate to review the efficacy and sustainability of the Victorian workers’ compensation scheme. Following on from this review the ‘Hanks Report’ (Hanks Report) was presented to the Victorian Government in July 2008, detailing over 150 recommendations for reform. The government responded to that report in 2009, and late last year introduced a Bill into parliament to amend the Accident Compensation Act 1985 (Vic) (ACA) and also the Accident Compensation (WorkCover Insurance) Act 1993 (Vic).

William Owen Chambers was Established in 1991 with its Barristers servicing the Central West, South West and Far West of New South Wales.

A:Simply shoot me an email with a list of changes, and any new images or files to include. Alternatively, if you feel comfortable with HTML and FTP, you can do this yourself. If your site was built on a CMS (Content Management System) then you can update the site whenever you like.

At some point in history, someone has realised there’s a market for people that believe there are simple answers to not so simple problems. Who wouldn’t want to buy a poster of some pretty scenery with an uplifting (albeit half-baked) quote that would deliver a swift kick in your pants and magically drive you to Goalsville.

And so, the Motivational Poster was born. Somehow, they are actually still around.

Occasionally, the planets align, Unicorns pop out of nowhere, and a designers’ creativity is allowed to run riot with the blessing from the Client.
